Direct Support Professional

We are currently accepting applications for Permanent Part-Time/Casual Direct Support Professionals to work in our various locations through Midland, Penetanguishene, Victoria Harbour, Port McNicoll and Waubaushene.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing a home-like environment for people being supported, ensuring that the individual’s rights are maintained, explained, encouraged and respected
  • Working as part of a support team to meet all needs of those in the location. This can include bathing, toileting, meal preparation, medication administration and support within the community for appointments and events.
  • Carrying out programs
  • Record maintenance such as occurrence book, individual logs, incident reports, behavioural tracking, etc. through various platforms
  • Performing all duties in a responsible and safe manner and providing a safe environment for the individuals we support
  • Establishing and maintaining an excellent working relationship and rapport with the people we support, their families and colleagues

Compensation Package:

Various rotations and hours, including casual positions, are available. Hours and days of work vary including asleep overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.

  • Probationary Hourly rate of pay:  $24.39/hour;

Based on position, candidates may be entitled to the following upon successful completion of probation:

  • Employer paid health coverage, dental and vision care
  • Employer paid sick time;
  • Vacation hours;
  • Annual Float Day

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with high behavioural needs, complex care needs, considered an asset
  • Availability for days, weekends, and statutory holidays;
  • Successful applicants are required to provide a criminal reference check with vulnerable sector screening, no older than 6 months.
  • A valid “Class G” driver’s license and reliable transportation are considered an asset.
