Ontario Autism Program - Entry to School

What is the Entry to School program?

This six-month, group program will focus on helping children develop school-readiness skills in:

  • Communication
  • Play
  • Social interaction
  • Behaviour
  • Self-Management
  • Learning and focus of attention

At the conclusion of the group program, children will receive individual transition supports as they enter school, including targeted consultations with Entry To School program staff during their first six months in school, as needed.

Who Is Eligible?

The Entry to School program supports children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) between the ages of three and six years old who are entering school (kindergarten or grade one) for the first time.

How do I register my child for Entry to School through YSAN?

Children must be registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) and have an OAP #. Eligible families will receive a letter from the OAP inviting them to participate in the Entry to School Program.

York Simcoe Autism Network (YSAN)

The York Simcoe Autism Network (YSAN) is a group of organizations providing autism services within York Region and Simcoe County committed to working together to provide accessible, high-quality services that result in improved outcomes for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. 

Children must be registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) and have an OAP #. Eligible families will receive a letter from the OAP inviting them to participate in the Entry to School Program.
